Most Asian parents would not encourage their children to sign up for American Football. Despite all the risks, a chance at experiencing the sport that Americans adored so dearly was something I could not turn a cold-shoulder to. I persuaded my worrying parents to support my decision to join the middle school football team and have since relished my experience with football. Now, whenever I hear the clash of helmets and shoulder pads, I am proud to say that it is a sound I have distinctive experience with.
